Vegas-Style Gambling To Increase In Florida

The Seminole Casino Immokalee will make the “first pull” on new Vegas-style slots machines in a few days. The casino will introduce hundreds of new machines by mid-June. The switch will bring more games and more profits, for both the players and the casino. Four hundred of the casino’s 800 machines will be switched to Vegas-style slots. Also, gamblers will begin playing the first legal games of blackjack and other "banked'' card games in Florida on June 22 at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. As part of the agreement to increase gaming, Florida has already received a $50 million payment from the tribe and is guaranteed $100 million in the first year. Many expects that the state’s share to quickly add up to billions of dollars.
